UTILIZATION OF BLAST FURNACE GAS, COKE OVEN GAS, COVERTER GAS

The power plant for the utiliztion of blast funace gas from the steel production. The main purpose of the power plant is to provide continuous and appropriate operation of the steel plant (production of the necessary steam and compressed air for the blast furnace, power supply and district heating).

Fuel from the metallurgical production process is sent to the boilers to produce superheated high pressure steam (HPS); process gases combusted in the boilers:

• Blast furnace gas
• Natural gas
• Coke oven gas
• Coverter gas

The high-pressure steam from the boilers is used to produce compressed air for the blast furnaces (turbo-compressors) and to generate electricity (turbo generators). All steam turbines are condensing turbines with controlled steam extraction. The cooling water is forced to the condensers after cooling by evaporative fan cooling towers.
