The company ZDAS signed an agreement with Siemens Energy on 10 December 2021 for the delivery of a set of two condensing steam turbines SST600, including two-pole generators with a nominal electrical power of 50 MW each, with a total power of 100 MW. The steam turbines will process the steam generated on the three steam boilers burning the blast furnace gas of the newly built blast furnace No. 11 of the major customer Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK). The boilers are designed by UNIS Power and will be manufactured by Interenergo in the Russian Federation. The volume of the contract concluded with Siemens Energy, s.r.o. amounts to EUR 18.6 million. This is the first technological contract signed for the PVES 3 project, followed by contracts for the supply of boilers, boiler design and the supply of turbo-compressors with Siemens Energy Duisburg by the end of the year.
Part of the contract for the supply of Siemens Energy is a condition for the production of a turbine body in the company ZDAS in the Metallurgy Division. This concludes the significance of the PVES 3 construction contract for MMK, when we completely fulfill the set strategy of the Energy Projects Division. Siemens Energy will produce another 3 steam turbines on this contract, which will serve as a drive for turbochargers for the production of compressed air. It thus obtains the production of 5 steam turbines from one project, which is one of the most important projects in the Russian Federation in the last 10 years in the field of steam turbine supplies.
We are working on this contract with Siemens Energy since February 2018 and we are very pleased that now, after 3 months of difficult negotiations, a final agreement has been reached.
As part of the PVES 3 construction project, site equipment is now being built up and the site is gradually fencing. Partial fulfillment of the 2nd phase of the basic design will also be handed over with the customer. Over the last two months, good cooperation with the MMK customer has been confirmed, as an agreement was reached to increase the contract price of the main technological parts and last week also an agreement was made to improve the payment calendar during the production of the main technologies.
